BuildingThe Little City Roller Girls are hosting skaters from
all over Tennessee to compete for the trophy at the 7th annual Honky
Tonk Stomp Tennessee state roller derby tournament. Little City Roller
Girls are hosting the weekend-long event, which begins on Saturday, June
22nd at 10am at the Appalachian Fairgrounds Farm & Home Building.
Saturday tournament play consists of six regulation games between Little
City Roller Girls, Hard Knox Roller Girls, Memphis Roller Derby, and
Chattanooga Roller Girls. Many of these teams are evenly matched, and
the excitement of the track will attract fans from all over Tennessee!
The excitement continues on Sunday when the Little City Junior Rollers
will play for keeps against Memphis Juniors. Weekend passes are $15 in
advance, or $20 at the door; single-day tickets are $10 and $12 at the
door. Kids 12 and under ALWAYS get in free. Advance tickets and passes
are available online through Brown Paper Tickets at http://littlecityrollergirls.com!Formed in September 2007, the Little City Roller Girls, LLC, are the Johnson
City, TN based member of the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association
(http://wftda.com.) The goal of our league is to represent the Tri
Cities TN & VA in national level WFTDA competition while positively
contributing to the health and well being of women and our community.
This is not 1970’s roller derby; there is nothing fake about it! Little
City skaters are athletes who not only train continuously and invest
their own money into gear and travel, but they invest countless hours
