Penalties for meth

I take pseudoephedrine for allergies and sinus problems per living in East Tennessee. This was suggested by a medical doctor approximately 12 years ago. I take it only as needed. A box of 20 may last 10 days or two months. I have asked several doctors I see regularly if there is anything else available that will do what this does. There are some prescription medications available, but do not work as well as this does. I have no side effects from it and I do not have the headaches and all the congestion that goes with this condition. I am against prescription only. Do not penalize the people who use it for medical reasons. This medication makes my life a lot easier to live in this area. The doctors know I take it and it is on all my lists of medications.Making it a prescription will not help. It might slow the meth down for a short time. People buying this in quantities for meth labs know it can be bought online or out of state. A law to prevent interstate transportation of this would help and make it like transportation of drugs and with the same penalties. Pass a law with a mandatory five years for transportation of meth or having a meth lab or materials. Make it another five for each kid who is in the home or car and confiscate all property, cars and cash with no bail available. Do not treat it like driving under the influence in Tennessee, which is a joke as it isn’t enforced in the courts. Cops have to have the legal tools to do their job.HAROLD WHITAKER Jonesborough
