Teen charged with attempted murder in wake of Johnson City apartment complex shooting

A 19-year-old city man has been charged with attempted murder after a shooting early Tuesday morning in an Austin Springs Road apartment complex that left one person with a bullet wound.Joshua A. Stevens, 293 Austin Springs Road, Apt. 95, was arrested after he fired several shots at his apartment complex, police said.Police were called to the complex just after midnight on a report that several shots had been fired in the parking lot during an argument. One person received a single gunshot wound to the abdomen.Stevens was charged with attempted 2nd degree murder, reckless endangerment and possession of schedule IV narcotics for resale.Johnson City Police Sgt. Don Shepard declined to release the victim's name or say what kind of drugs were involved.Stevens was jailed in the Washington County Detention Center on $200,000 bond with a Sessions Court hearing set for Wednesday.The investigation was continuing police said.Keep visiting JohnsonCityPress.com for details on this developing story as they become available.
