NASHVILLE — A new hockey center managed by the Nashville Predators will be constructed at the city's new mixed-use complex in southeast Nashville.Mayor Karl Dean and Predators officials said on Monday that the facility will also include an expanded branch library, new regional community center and park at the site of the former Hickory Hollow mall, now known as the Global Mall at the Crossings.According to a news release from the Predators, the city will build and own the $14 million hockey center with two rinks, but the NHL organization will lease it and manage the facility.Predators CEO Jeff Cogen said in the release that more rinks in the community will help grow their fan base and create economic opportunities in the Antioch area.
