A text message to a Fall Branch woman from a male friend enraged her husband to the point he stuck a gun barrel into her mouth in front of their children, according to court documents.
Jackie Wexler, 27, 176 Highway 93, Fall Branch, was arrested on charges of aggravated domestic assault and two counts of reckless endangerment after the incident was reported about 9 p.m. Thursday.
In a news release, Sheriff Ed Graybeal said Wexler had been in a fight with his wife, who ran outside to escape the attack. Wexler fired a .22 caliber pistol in the air trying to get her to go back inside. He then stuck the pistol’s barrel into her mouth.
Court records show the incident took place with the couple’s two minor children present after the woman said she was taking the kids and leaving.
The argument started after the woman received a text message from another man.
“The victim stated the suspect was arguing and yelling and screaming and been assaulting her with his hands and threw the victim against the kitchen counter,” Deputy Hank Hall wrote in the warrant.
The woman ran out the front door, but tripped as she tried to get away. She told officers her husband fired a gun into the air, then dragged her back inside by her hair.
Once they were back in the house, Wexler stuck the gun barrel in the woman’s mouth, she told officers. The woman was able to get away after a brief struggle and take their two children to a neighbor’s house.
Wexler was jailed in the Washington County Detention Center on $70,000 bond. He was arraigned in General Sessions Court Friday and will appear for a hearing next week.———Earlier report posted at noon:A Fall Branch man stuck a gun barrel into his wife's mouth during a fight with their children present after firing a bullet into the air Thursday night, resulting in his arrest, Sheriff Ed Graybeal said in a news release.
