Two men were charged in connection with making methamphetamine in a car on Lakeview Drive in Johnson City early this morning, according to police.
Johnson City police checked out a what was described as a “suspicious vehicle” in the area of 905 E. Lakeview Dr. just after midnight and found Thomas R. Scott, 29, 1255 Carolina Ave, Erwin, and Raymond K. Tipton, 47, who said he was homeless, inside the car and who were “in the process of manufacturing methamphetamine,” according to a news release.
Both men were charged with initiation of process intended to result in the manufacturing of methamphetamine, promotion of methamphetamine and unlawful drug paraphernalia.
Scott and Tipton were being held on $21,000 bonds the Washington County Detention Center.
