ELIZABETHTON — Workers from T & E Wrecker Service climb the steep hill to U.S. Highway 19E after attaching the towing cable to a pickup truck on Tuesday evening. The tow truck had 150 feet and another 60 feet of chains were needed to reach the truck. The unidentified driver was being treated at the Johnson City Medical Center. He was southbound from Sullivan County into Carter County when he went into the median, then crossed both southbound lanes and crashed through the guard rail at the highest point on the highway along the mountainous county border region.
