Police say woman found passed out in vehicle

A Kingsport woman was arrested Sunday after police found her passed out in her vehicle in downtown Johnson City, according to a JCPD report.
According to the report, Amber N. Williford, 27, 3209 Hillvue Drive, was charged after an officer saw her 1999 Jetta in a parking lot with the lights on.
When police approached the vehicle, Williford was passed out in the driver’s seat while the vehicle was running, police said. According to the report, police tried to wake Williford, but was forced to reach in the vehicle to turn it off.
When Williford did wake up, she appeared confused and disoriented and reportedly had bloodshot eyes and an alcohol odor on her breath.
According to the report, she exited the vehicle and started to look for her license in the back seat before finding the license in her pocket. Police said Williford performed poorly on the sobriety tests and did not follow instructions. She also refused a blood test.
Williford was charged with driving under the influence and was taken to Washington County Detention Center, where she has since bonded out.
